What is the function and operation of Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS)?

ATS is the Automatic Transfer Switch, The function of this
switch is that if the utility supply goes then the
connected equipment would be transfer automatic on
emergency source from utility source through this switch.

But it is programed few second delay asper sefty rules becose
when incoming flickering or sparking that time it should not go on where incoming sores are connect healthy that switch may go on

ATS is a change over switch, which is functioning automatically during the power failure.
It is installed in the building to switch within the generator power supply and main power supply.
ATS incoming side two type of power source have connected 1. Normal (DEWA) supply 2.Essential (Generator) supply and the both are connecting with one load of critical life safety equipment’s.
ATS is sensing both incoming sources and whenever power failure it is changed over automatically after the voltage and frequency normal.
